A rugged, bipedal humanoid robot, “PETMAN”, was recently (October2011) created by the Massachusetts company Boston Dynamics. A video of the robot shows it remaining upright after receiving a stiff shove, performing push-ups, and moving at the pace of a brisk jog. During the demo, the humanoidreached speeds of 4.4 mph.
